Fighting Back!

Hey hey...

I know it has been a looong minute since I last posted. That's because there has been nothing to report. Nothing great anyways. Due to some lifestyle changes my body and hair have been stressed out and I've been experiencing some breakage.

Me, the Magician

"I shall make this blogger disappear in five, four ,thr...wait?! She's gone already?!"

Good intentions will get you nowhere, faster than a speeding bullet, a jet plane, superman... you get the picture...

It was my intention to blog more. It was also my intention to not cut my hair anymore...and to do a year of protective styling. Boy, did that NOT happen. Not that I didn't want it to.

I want longer hair sooo badly!! Unfortunately, my protective styling either didn't seem to be working or my finger tips are too sensitive, because at the first feel of rough ends, my hair shears magically appear in my hand. And *poof* there goes 1/2 to 1 inch.

Furthermore, my hair actually started to do massive breakage. "Why, Lee?", you may ask. Well, since you asked, because of stress, my lovelies!! Not only can stress kill you, but in the process it affects your body so negatively.

Thankfully, I'm out of the situation now and my hair is looking and feeling a lot better. I note my length by how easy it is for me to put my hair in one and I've recovered the length I had to take off in early June. I'm back on the wagon with my protective styling and I even recorded a video yesterday! *YAY  LEE*

Unfortunately, I have to wait for hubby to take it off because every time I try, the computer want to reformat the card. *STUPSE!*

If it isn't one thing, it's another...

*And for my final trick, Ladies and Gentlemen, *poof* the blogger is back!!!*

As A Natural Never Forget This!! Part 2

Ello Lovelies!!

Here are two more great reasons why you should keep your hair well moisturized At.All.Times.

Single Strand/Fairy Knots
There is nothing cute about these buggers!!! They make the ends of your hair very rough and can cause breakage as well. I actually witnessed this assault on my strands when I was trying to capture one. The only way to get rid of single strand knots is to cut them off. And once again, if you have length goals and are trying to get from that "dreaded" tween stage...nuff said.

Split Ends and Split Strands
I don't know how many persons are affected by this second one. Have you ever examined a shed hair and found that it seems to split from the center? I have a picture of it somewhere because it happens to me a lot. It is so high up the hair shaft that you could probably take a couple inches off in order to get rid of it. This definitely affects the look, feel and health of your hair.

Now, you've read what dry hair can do and cause so let's look at how to prevent it. Next Post!

Shedding v.s Breakage

Hello, hello!! I'm back!

So a  week or so ago, August 20 and 21, I had the extreme pleasure of participating in the 100 Voice Project!! The purpose behind it was to show that people can come from different countries and backgrounds, speak different languages and dialects but still be able to perform and communicate through the universal language of music, and do so in perfect harmony. I had an awesome time and made new friends while at it! *Large up the Altos!!!*

While I was prepping for the show, I had my hair all sectioned out and in the middle of my head I noticed some really short hair!!! *gasp*

I know, react with abject horror right?! No. The first thing to do is to determine whether it's hair that has broken, or hair that's now growing. I snapped a couple photos to show you guys the difference!

Broken Hair
I've circled in red a particular strand I wanted to point out. See how the end is blunt and the same thickness as the rest of the hair shaft? This is a broken strand. :-( Unfortunate as it is. It's quite easy to tell the difference because of these characteristics. Blunt end with the end the same thickness as the rest of the shaft.

Shed Hair
In this photo note how the ends of the hairs are tapered off, meaning the strand gets thinner as it comes to the end. These strands are actually new strands that have been populating the inner city of my head. YaY!!!

If you have any questions leave a comment below or message me. :-) Catch ya l8r.

Love,
Lee.♥
